Reznikov said that within the framework of the new format, Ukraine will sit at the table with Alliance members on an equal footing and will have the opportunity to raise important issues.
Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov said that the appearance of the format Ukraine-NATO Council will help increase the effectiveness of our country’s relationship with the North Atlantic Alliance. It was reported by the Military Media Center.
“I believe it will happen, and I think it will be announced at the summit in Vilnius,” the minister said.
As known, Ukraine-NATO Council will replace the meetings of the NATO-Ukraine Commission at the level of defense ministers. The last meeting took place last week in Brussels.
According to Reznikov, within the framework of the new format, Ukraine will sit at the table with the members of the Alliance on an equal footing and will have the opportunity to raise important issues and include them in the agenda; participate in the work of subcommittees and subcommittees.
In particular, Ukraine will be able to participate in at least two annual meetings at the level of NATO defense ministers.
“It adds more subjectivity, which, accordingly, will give us the opportunity to be more effective in cooperation with NATO,” the head of the Defense Ministry emphasized.
Remember, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba criticized the possible creation of the Ukraine-NATO Council. According to him, Ukraine in the future should become a full member of NATO, and not just a privileged partner.
As reported, the Pentagon said that Ukraine will have its own way to join NATO.
