This is stated in the decree of the head of state.
To appoint Andriy Yaroslavych Melnyk as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Federative Republic of Brazil, the document says.
Recently, the Brazilian government agreed to the appointment of Melnyk as Ukraine’s ambassador to the country.
Andriy Melnyk is a Ukrainian diplomat who was Ukraine’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Germany from December 19, 2014 to July 9, 2022. Since November 18, 2022, he has been appointed Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
Earlier, Melnyk called German Chancellor Olaf Scholz “an offended liverwurst” for allegedly not wanting to go to Ukraine. He also accused Germany of an insufficient “culture of hospitality” as Ukrainian refugees leave the country. Against the background of these scandals, President Zelensky fired Melnyk from his post as ambassador to Germany. In addition, Melnik, in an interview, stated that there was no “evidence that Bandera killed hundreds of thousands of Jews,” and this narrative is actively promoted by Russia.
