This occupier served as chief of staff of the 35th Combined Arms Army of Russia. It is also possible that Goryochev was acting commander of the 35th Army at the time of his death. Yes, it probably was, because after its liquidation, the position of commander was taken by Lieutenant General Alexander Sanchik. This was reported on June 16 by British intelligence.
It is noted that Goryochev became the first Russian general to be destroyed in Ukraine since the beginning of 2023. This top officer continues a military record that is both difficult and controversial for the 35th Army.
The British recalled that in March last year, parts of this enemy army were present during the massacre of civilians in Bucha, and in June 2022, units of the 35th Army were largely destroyed near Izyum.
Recall that on June 13, Ukrainian journalists reported that in the Zaporozhye region, as a result of a missile attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the chief of staff of the 35th combined-arms army of Russia, Major General Sergei Goryachevoy, was eliminated.
