The Netherlands plans to buy four VERA-EG passive radar systems to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense.
The Netherlands intends to provide financial assistance to strengthen Ukraine’s air defense. We are talking about the purchase of four passive radar systems VERA-EG for 150 million euros. This was stated by the Minister of Defense of the Netherlands, Kaisa Ollongren.
“Russia targets Ukrainian civilian and military targets from the air, so it is still important to strengthen Ukrainian air defense. The Netherlands is contributing to this with its allies,” he said.
During the Contact Group on the Defense of Ukraine, it will be announced that the Netherlands is allocating 40 million euros for the purchase of air defense equipment, which will be delivered to Ukraine in the near future.
It was noted that the International Fund allocated 92 million euros for air defense for Ukraine. This is expected to happen before the end of the year.
