5 questions about Pixar animation that need to be answered

For over 30 years, Pixar Studios has been responsible for presenting us with iconic stories, which feature characters that have marked the childhood of thousands of people to this day, bringing together entire families to check out the creative plots.

However, despite these stories being known worldwide, some fans still have many questions about the productions that have never been answered – in addition to there being no indication that they can be clarified someday.

1. How did the Pêra family get their powers?

In “The Incredibles”, we are introduced to Pixar’s superheroes, focusing on the Parr family, where parents and children have powers and try to save the city from all threats. But, do you know how they got these skills? During an interview for the CinemaBlend portal in 2018, Brad Birdthe director of “The Incredibles 2”, revealed that even he doesn’t know the origin of the Incredibles’ powers.

“I don’t know. You may have just created ‘The Incredibles 3’. I mean, it doesn’t really matter to me, you know. The kind of ‘classic Marvel thing’ where someone spills a test tube or something and then someone has a superpower. I don’t know. I think in my head it’s a little more natural than that. If we have a baby with superpowers that means they can be born I guess. So it’s probably not the toxic leak. Although, I wouldn’t say that every superhero in this universe is naturally created. Maybe there are some toxic spills in there. I don’t know. I hope I never have to explain it,” said the filmmaker.

2. How did Dory develop her recent memory loss?

One of the most striking characteristics of Dory, the character of “Finding Nemo”, is her recent memory loss. However, in the two films of the franchise, it is never clearly explained how the fish developed this condition. In “Finding Dory”, we discover that she has suffered from a lack of memory since she was a little girl, but how did that happen? Nobody knows.

3. Where is Andy’s father?

Andy’s father’s disappearance is one of the biggest mysteries within Pixar’s animations. In all the films in the franchise, we see the boy and his sister, Molly, being raised only by their mother, but it is never revealed where the father of the family is – or even if he really exists.

4. What was Boo’s life like before moving to Monstropolis?

Boo is the nickname given by Sulley and Mike to the little girl who ran away from their door and ends up in the Monster World. During the movie, when the girl returns to her room, we can find out through one of her drawings that her real name is Mary, but that’s the only thing we know about the girl in the human world. How old is she? How is her family? Who are her parents? These questions were never answered.

5. How did Carros vehicles come about?

In “Cars”, all vehicles have lives, and follow their daily lives with attitudes similar to those of humans — such as having their own establishments, having feelings, raising a family, etc. Furthermore, in the universe of the production starring Lightning McQueen, there are no humans. But, have you ever wondered how they gained these skills? And how are they born?
