Several countries of the European Union and the United States have already provided humanitarian assistance to the Ukrainians affected by the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.
Denmark has expressed its readiness to provide immediate humanitarian aid to Ukraine to those affected by Russia’s bombing of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. This was announced on Thursday, June 8, in a statement by the Danish Foreign Ministry.
It is reported that the Danish emergency agency has sent two powerful bombs, 35 tents for living, three small boats with transport fences and a large generator to Ukraine.
The total amount for which Denmark will provide humanitarian aid is 2.5 million Danish crowns (335 thousand euros).
It is expected that the items needed to rescue people in southern Ukraine will arrive on Saturday. The shipment will be handed over to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
In addition, Denmark will send five tank trucks to Ukraine to collect and transport water from the flooded areas and some generators worth about seven million Danish crowns (940,000 euros).
“A significant part of Ukraine is in a terrible situation, and we must do everything possible to help Ukrainians,” commented Danish Acting Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.
Recall that on June 6, the Russian invaders blew up the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. The destruction caused widespread flooding, as well as a humanitarian and environmental disaster. About 80 communities are under the threat of flooding.
As reported, Ukraine and the UN agreed to evacuate people affected by the explosion of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station from the occupied territories.
