The United States aid program is designed to meet Ukraine’s long-term defense needs against an aggressor.
The Pentagon is set to announce on Friday that it is providing Ukraine with a long-term military aid package that includes air defenses. On Thursday, June 8, writes Bloomberg, citing its own sources.
According to the publication, the total cost of the new military aid package is $2 billion.
“The money that will be allocated as part of the initiative to help Ukraine in the field of security will be used to purchase launchers and Hawk missiles, as well as GEM-T and PAC-3 missiles for the Patriot air defense systems,” said Bloomberg.
The newspaper notes that the Pentagon intends to announce increased support for Ukraine in the war with the Russian Federation “when military analysts announce the start of Ukraine’s long-awaited counter-offensive.”
Recall that now the Western media reported that Ukraine seems to have launched a counter-offensive. And the Russian so-called “military letters” announced tough battles in the Zaporozhye region.
In this regard, the Ministry of Defense announced active hostilities in the east and south.
