The population of Kherson region can receive about 600 thousand tablets for water disinfection. This was announced by the Chief Sanitary Doctor, Deputy Minister of Health Igor Kuzin on the air of the telethon on Wednesday, June 7.
According to him, now there are no deviations in the quality of water in the centralized water supply system. However, a significant part of the population can use wells and wells, the quality of which water must be monitored, filtered and disinfected.
“If there is access to bottled water, it should be preferred,” he stressed.
Kuzin added that “at the level of regions, at least in flooded territories, additional stocks of antibiotics and sorbents are formed for the treatment of chronic intestinal infections.”
In the region, at least 190 medical facilities must provide medical care in case of emergencies.
“These health institutions are on high alert. They have at least 800 free beds that can be used for emergency hospitalization,” he said, noting that Kherson city-level hospitals continue to their work.
Kuzin added that there is a risk of flooding the regional oncology center, so the possibility of evacuating his patients is being discussed.
