A Turkish battalion of about 500 men arrived in Kosovo as reinforcements for the NATO contingent. This was announced on Monday, June 5, at NATO.
“About 500 Turkish soldiers from the 65th Mechanized Infantry Brigade will form the basis for reinforcements for the Alliance. Additional NATO forces have been placed on high alert and will be deployed if necessary,” the statement said.
Clashes between NATO forces and Kosovo Serbs, which previously resulted in the injury of more than 50 Serbs and approximately 30 NATO troops, were described in the statement as “unprovoked and unacceptable violence against to NATO peacekeeping forces.”

According to Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, NATO is responsible for maintaining stability in Kosovo.
Recall that the European Union has said that they will take “decisive measures” if the Kosovo authorities do not announce early elections in municipalities in the north of the country.
Earlier it was reported that Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic had brought the country’s armed forces to a state of maximum readiness and ordered the military to move immediately in the direction of Kosovo due to the “violence of the Kosovo police”.
