As part of the defense operation, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are moving to offensive operations in some areas, Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar said today.
“Defensive operations contain everything, including counter-offensive actions. Therefore, in some areas we are moving to offensive actions,” wrote the deputy minister.
Malyar added that the direction of Bakhmut remains the center of the conflict.
“There we operate in a relatively wide front. We are successful. We occupy the dominant height. The enemy is on the defensive, he wants to hold positions,” Maliar insisted.
He also noted that in the south the enemy is on the defensive and local battles continue there.
Later, Malyar added that offensive actions are being carried out on the eastern front by the troops of the Operational-Strategic Group of Forces of Khortytsya. Despite the fierce resistance and attempts of the enemy to hold their lines and positions, our units advanced in several directions during the battle:

The Russian militaristic Telegram channel WarGonz announced that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are establishing themselves in the village of Novodonetskoye in the Kramatorsk district of the Donetsk region.
“Fierce battles are now opening for the village of Novodonetskoye, which is located along the front line almost exactly in the middle between Ugledar and Bolshaya Novoselovka. In fact, the enemy managed to wedge in at least two kilometers deep,” the message said.
The terrorist “DPR”, the founder of the “Vostok” battalion of militants, Alexander Khodakovsky, also reported on the advance of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Novodonetsk. At the same time, he lamented the retreat of the invaders due to the alleged large-scale attack by the German Leopard tanks. Because of this, even the Russians themselves ridiculed him.
In this regard, the head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, claims that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have recaptured part of the village of Berkhovka near Bakhmut from the Russians.
