This was announced today, June 2, by the press service of the SBU and the Luhansk Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
The detainee is a pro-Russian employee of a local agricultural company, a resident of the village of Novovodyane, Svatovsky district, Luhansk region.
After the occupation of the settlement, he immediately supported the invaders and offered them his help in the war against Ukraine. In particular, during the year the collaborator regularly carried out the transportation of the military of the Russian Federation and the armed formations of the so-called “L/DPR”, as well as ammunition, which he helped to unload.
Also, in his own yard, the attacker set up a service station to repair Russian military equipment, including armored personnel carriers knocked out by Ukrainian defenders, the SBU notes. “For this, the occupiers allowed their henchman to freely move around the area and rob the houses of people who left for the territory controlled by Ukraine.
In the spring of 2023, when, as a result of the offensive actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the front line approached the outskirts of his village, the collaborator went to the Kiev region, where he tried to “legalise” himself as a migrant from the east of Ukraine and even began to apply for social assistance.
Employees of the SBU established his whereabouts and detained the defendant in Boryspil. On the basis of the collected evidence, the investigators of the Security Service informed him of a suspicion under Part 7 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaboration activity), – note in the special service.
The Oktyabrsky District Court of Dnepropetrovsk chose a measure of restraint for him in the form of detention. The collaborator faces imprisonment for up to 15 years with possible confiscation of property. The investigation is ongoing.
