Viktor Orban said Ukraine would suffer heavy losses during the counter-offensive and called for negotiations with Russia.
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban promoted a ceasefire and peace talks between Ukraine and Russia before the Ukrainian counter-offensive began. He said this in an interview on state radio, Telex reports.
According to him, Ukrainians are preparing a counter-offensive, which is “the business of Ukrainians.” However, as “a man with a year and a half of military experience,” he “knew very well” that the attacking side suffered three times more losses than the defending side.
“And in a country whose population is only a small part of the population of the opposing sides, launching a major military offensive in such conditions would mean massacre. for a ceasefire and peace negotiations” said Orban.
He also said that as long as he is in power, Hungary will not fight against Russia.
Remember, Orban said that Ukraine cannot win the war with Russia, and it doesn’t matter who attacked whom.
Earlier, Orban reacted negatively to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg’s statement about Ukraine’s future in the alliance. The Prime Minister of Hungary called Ukraine a “non-existent country”.
