The High Council of Justice (HCR) approved the petition of the Deputy Prosecutor General for the temporary suspension of Aleksey Tandyr, a judge of the Makarovsky District Court of the Kyiv Region, in connection with bringing him to criminal liability.

Tandyr was suspended until July 25, until the end of the pre-trial investigation. The corresponding decision today, June 2, at the meeting was supported by all 13 members of the VRP present.
On the night of May 26, the tandyr was in a car that killed a 23-year-old National Guardsman at a checkpoint in Kyiv. Tandyr then refused to be tested for alcohol and drugs, but the court allowed the forced removal of biological samples from him.
On the fact of the accident, criminal proceedings were initiated under Part 3 of Art. 286-1 (violation of traffic safety rules or transport operation by persons driving vehicles while intoxicated) of the Criminal Code
On May 27, the High Council of Justice agreed to Tandyr’s arrest. On the same day, the Pechersky District Court chose a preventive measure for him – detention until July 21 without the possibility of bail.
On May 29, at a meeting of judges of the Makarovsky District Court, Tandyr was fired from the post of chairman of the court, which he held at the time of the fatal accident.
