The High Council of Justice (HJC) suspended until July 25 from the administration of justice the head of the Makarovsky District Court of the Kyiv region, Oleksiy Tandyr. This was learned on Friday, June 2, during the broadcast of the Supreme Council meeting.
“The High Council of Justice decided to satisfy the petition of the Deputy Prosecutor General Voytenok Anton Borisovich. In the meantime, until July 25, 2023, remove the judge of the Makarovsky District Court of the Kiev Region Tandyr Oleksiy Vitaliyevich from the administration of justice with relationship with bringing to criminal responsibility,” announced the chairman of the Supreme Court of Justice Hryhoriy Usyk.
The corresponding decision was supported by all 13 members of the Supreme Council who attended the meeting.
As you know, on the evening of May 26, the head of the Makarovsky District Court of the Kyiv region, Aleksey Tandyr, shot a 23-year-old fighter of the National Guard at a checkpoint in Kyiv. The soldier died at the scene from his injuries.
When the judge’s car was searched, a bottle of alcohol was found, but the judge refused to test for intoxication.
The next day, the High Council of Justice agreed to keep Tandyr in prison. Consent was also granted for biological samples to be forcibly taken from Tandoor for analysis.
