The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has taken an unpopular decision to increase the electricity tariff for the population to UAH 2.64/kWh from June 1. It is reported by “Economic truth” with reference to a source in the government.

According to the source, Minister of Energy German Galushchenko urgently introduced a resolution to increase the electricity tariff for the population. She was agreed.
Earlier, the National Commission for State Regulation in the Spheres of Energy and Public Utilities (NEURC) officially submitted proposals to establish a single tariff for electricity for household consumers from June 1 at the level of UAH 2.88 / kWh (including VAT) as part of the first stage of adjustment prices.
There are three tariffs in Ukraine: two “social” tariffs for the population and one market tariff for business. Household consumers who use less than 250 kWh per month pay UAH 1.44. per kWh, whoever is more – 1.68 UAH. per kWh.
