The book’s authors argue that the Kremlin was allegedly “forced” to take “preventive measures” against Ukraine.
The Russians have prepared a new textbook on the history of Russia for grades 10-11, a section dedicated to the full-scale war in Ukraine has appeared. He advocates Kremlin ideologues about the “just cause” of the Russian Federation, as well as about the “denazification and demilitarization” of Ukraine. The publication Sota reported this in connection with textbook photos sent by a teacher from Arkhangelsk.
The book’s authors claim that “the West used Ukraine as a salient fist aimed at Russia and a springboard for a NATO attack” and that Moscow allegedly knew that Ukraine, with the support of West, is preparing for “a full-scale. military operation to occupy Donbass and Crimea.” in connection with which Russia was “forced to take preventive measures.”
These so-called “preventive measures” should save the “DNR” and “LNR” from “daily shelling, ensuring their sovereignty, demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine.”
The textbook uses cliches familiar to the Kremlin: Western sanctions must “tear apart” the Russian economy, the West forces Ukraine to “fight until the last Ukrainian”, the approval rating of Vladimir Putin “exceeds 80%.”
At the end of the section, the authors quote the words from the address of the Chairman of the Council of People’s Commissars Vyacheslav Molotov on the day of the German attack on the USSR: “Our cause is just! The enemy will be defeated! Victory will be ours!”
The authors of the textbook are Deputy of the State Duma from United Russia Vyacheslav Nikonov and adviser to the director of the FSO Sergei Devyatov.
The textbook will become part of the school curriculum from September 1, 2023. Rise, citing the Russian Word publishing house, said that the new textbook will not be mandatory, and the section on SVO itself appeared in the book- study in 2022.
As already mentioned, the Russians plan to teach the Ukrainian language in the occupied territories of Ukraine, but according to a special textbook – to instill “traditional Russian values” in children. The development cost is 8.5 million rubles (about 4.3 million hryvnias).
In the Russian Federation, the mention of Kyiv in verses about Rus’ was removed from textbooks – media
