In the Zaporozhye direction, the enemy is actively using combat aircraft, and on May 25 a pair of Russian Su-25s tried to attack the positions of the Ukrainian defenders. At that time, the National Guardsmen – “Zaporozhye Avenger” and his combat brothers were on combat duty. They instantly identified hostile targets and worked on them from man-portable anti-aircraft missile systems. This was reported by the National Guard in Telegram.
As a result of the hit, one of the “dryers” was completely destroyed, but the pilot managed to eject in the temporarily occupied territory.
And the second plane was let down by the Zaporozhye Avenger, which already has seven Russian planes on its account. After the shot, the enemy Su-25 was seriously damaged and forced to make an emergency landing. Then, at the end of the runway, residents of Melitopol saw a black column of smoke, and before that they heard deaf explosions.
Recall, on May 22, in the Donetsk region, a Ukrainian soldier shot down a Russian Mi-24 helicopter from the Igla MANPADS, which was trying to shell the village of New York.
