Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov said that at this time the Ukrainian army is in greater need of military aircraft. On Wednesday, May 25, he said in an interview with the program Vіkna-novini.
“The only thing we lack now are aircraft. Because now the Russian Federation dominates the skies, unfortunately. Especially with the use of strategic aviation, which we moved after the agreement in 1994. These are aircraft that once patrolled in our country, some of them. It’s sad, of course, but we can learn from these lessons, “Danilov said.
Danilov noted the achievements of the Ukrainian armed forces, at the same time, acknowledging that the Russian army still retains its power.
“Our task is to destroy this capacity to zero, so that the issue of our independence, the existence of our state will never be on the agenda in the Russian Federation,” the head of the National Security and Defense Council emphasized.
Earlier, Danilov said that Russia has enough military potential and it is pointless to talk about ending the war in the near future.
Recall, the adviser to the head of the Interior Ministry Anton Gerashchenko, said that Ukraine would need three to five months and many Western weapons, including air defense, to win.
