The European Commission is discussing the construction of a new offshore gas pipeline amid the energy crisis. The construction of the 700 -kilometer -long gas pipeline will require an investment of 2.5 to 3 billion euros. This was reported by the Spanish newspaper El Pais.

It was noted that in Spain there are six operating plants for regasification. They can be used to solve Russia’s gas problem. The project could be completed within two years.

Recall that some European countries are already rejecting Russian gas. In particular, Poland terminated the gas contract with Russia ahead of schedule. At the same time, Germany is planning new projects in Africa to reduce Russia’s gas dependence.
