This was reported by the correspondent of Radio Liberty. The meeting was closed.
Recall that the former officer of the Special Operations Forces is suspected of exceeding official authority. The case concerns an attempt to hijack a Russian aircraft, which, according to the investigation, led to the shelling of the Kanatovo airfield in the Kirovograd region. Investigators claim that the transaction was carried out without approval.
On April 25, Chervinsky was given a preventive measure – two months of detention without the right to make bail.
The defenders note that all Chervinsky’s actions were coordinated at the appropriate level, and the bombing of the airfield was not a consequence of the failure of the operation.
The Main Intelligence Directorate said they had nothing to do with the failed operation to hijack a Russian plane, which led to rocket attacks on the Kanatovo airfield in the Kirovograd region.
The representative of the GUR Andrey Yusov said in an interview with RBC-Ukraine that Chervinsky’s idea of hijacking the plane was immediately rejected as unrealistic. GUR saw great risks in it. Yusov noted that in fact, the damage from the implementation of the plan has been caused much more than it was announced by the SBU.
The investigation claims that Chervinsky arbitrarily organized an unsuccessful special operation that led to the leakage of data about the airfield. On July 23, 2022, Russian troops launched a missile attack on him – the commander of the military unit was killed, 17 defenders were injured, and two Ukrainian fighters were destroyed.
