During the day, on May 11, the Ukrainian Defense Forces inflicted powerful blows on the enemy. In particular, aircraft and helicopters of the Air Force carried out 13 strikes against areas where enemy personnel and military equipment were concentrated. Also today, the defenders destroyed seven Russian drones of various types. This is stated in the evening summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The rocket and artillery units also prove their professionalism. On Thursday, they hit eight command posts, 13 areas of concentration of manpower, destroyed an ammunition depot and a composition of fuel and lubricants. Also eliminated were five Russian artillery units in firing positions, an air defense system and two important enemy targets.
The General Staff added that the enemy continues to concentrate its main efforts on the Limansky, Bakhmutsky, Avdeevsky and Maryinsky directions. Today, the fighters of the Defense Forces repelled more than 30 attacks in these areas. The fiercest battles continue for Bakhmut and Marinka.
Recall, on May 10, the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, said that the military were able to conduct effective counterattacks in the Bakhmut direction, as a result of which the Russian army retreated up to 2 km in certain sectors of the front.
