Rocket strikes from the Gaza Strip killed one person and wounded seven others in the Israeli city of Rehovot. This was stated by the press service of the Israeli ambulance service Magen David Adom (Red Shield of David) on Thursday, May 11th.
“A total of eight injured as a result of the incident: one dead, four (wounded – ed.) of moderate severity, one suffered lightly, two were injured,” said the statement.
Before the strike, an air raid alert was issued in Rehovot and the nearby town of Ramla. Air raid sirens used to sound repeatedly in the settlements in southern Israel, directly adjacent to the Gaza Strip and the large seaside city of Ashkelon.
The Gaza Strip has fired more than 500 rockets at Israel since Wednesday. A third of them were intercepted by Israel’s air defense system. The Israeli Army (TsAGAL) hit 150 targets of the radical organization Islamic jihad in a semi-enclave.
TsAGAL has been conducting operations in the Gaza Strip since May 9 Shield and arrow. In particular, the Israelis hit military targets Islamic Jihad.
