The billionaire said that civilization could not survive World War III and the only way to save it was to defeat Putin.
The American billionaire and founder of the Open Society Foundation, George Soros, said that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine could be the beginning of World War III, so the best way to maintain a free civilization for the West was to defeat the President of Russia Vladimir Putin. Soros said this at a forum in Davos.
According to him, the invasion may have been the beginning of the Third World War, and our civilization may not have survived it.
“The best and perhaps the only way to save our civilization is to defeat Putin as soon as possible. That’s the point,” Soros added.
He noted that Putin, who says the “special operation” in Ukraine will go according to plan and achieve all the Kremlin’s goals, now believes the aggression was a mistake and is preparing to negotiate a halt- shots.
“But a truce is unattainable because it’s unreliable,” Soros said.
He also added that “the weaker Putin becomes, the more unpredictable he becomes.”
Soros said the EU needs to understand that Putin can kill Russia’s natural gas, which currently provides about 40% of Europe’s needs, “as long as it’s really painful.”
Soros also said he could not predict the outcome, but Ukraine certainly has a chance to win.
It will be recalled that Soros had earlier called the Chinese leader the “biggest threat” and called on the international community to encourage China to change the political regime.
Earlier, China made a statement on World War III, calling on Ukraine and the Russian Federation to maintain dialogue and negotiations to avoid dragging and spreading the conflict.
