The Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko said that Ukrainians have no reason to panic financially, because the country hopes to receive assistance from the United States soon. Marchenko said this on Tuesday, May 24, on the air of the telethon.
According to him, $ 7.5 billion will go directly to the budget of Ukraine. This money is grant money, part of a package of 40 billion US aid.
At the same time, Marchenko stressed that price instability is a problem for the whole world, not just for Ukraine.
Also, the head of the Ministry of Finance did not exclude that in the current situation, the government will impose some special duties on NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, but energy carriers will be expensive for the industry and prices will increase accordingly.
Marchenko also said that on Tuesday Ukraine placed nearly UAH 13 billion worth of war bonds and cooperated with external partners for financial assistance.
However, he stressed that in order to supply the budget, it was necessary to restore the pre-war taxation system.
The other day, Marchenko also announced that Ukraine would be given support in the amount of 150 million euros. A loan for development policy during an economic emergency from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
