The defense of Bakhmut continues. The Russians destroy buildings and positions with air strikes and artillery.
The situation in Bakhmut, Donetsk region, remains difficult but manageable. The enemy switched to the so-called “Syrian” scorched earth tactics. This was said by the commander of the Eastern Group of Forces, Colonel-General Alexander Syrsky.
“Our brave soldiers have exhausted the Wagnerites in their actions, so the enemy is now forced to include special forces and air assault units in the battles for Bakhmut,” he said.
According to Syrsky, the battle was fierce on both sides.
“The enemy has moved to the so-called “Syrian” scorched earth tactics. It is destroying buildings and positions with air strikes and artillery fire. The defense of Bakhmut continues. The situation is difficult, but under control,” asserted the Colonel General .
Syrsky regularly works in the war zone. In particular, on April 9, he visited the hottest sector of the front in the direction of Bakhmut, where he heard from the commanders of military units and groups about the development of the defense and problematic issues that require immediate solutions . In place, he made operational decisions and set tasks.
The commander also met the personnel of the brigades of Ground Forces, Airborne Assault Forces, Territorial Defense and awarded the best fighters with awards, valuable gifts and cash prizes.
Remember, according to Deputy Defense Minister Anna Malyar, none of the information being filled by Russia about the situation around Bakhmut is true.
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelensky said the situation in Bakhmut was the most difficult on the front. The Russian Federation does not control the city, but at the threat of huge losses, a decision can be made to withdraw the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
