There are four apartments in the building, where eight people live. They are all considered missing.
The bodies of two people were found under the rubble of a house in the center of Marseille, France, which collapsed overnight from Saturday to Sunday. This was reported on April 10 by news channel BFMTV.
The rescuers noted that, due to the special difficulties in the work, the removal of the rubble will take some time. After that, the judicial authorities will begin to identify the dead.
According to law enforcement officials, in a three-story building at 17 Tivoli Street, there are four apartments in which eight people live. They are all considered missing.
“Most likely, these are elderly people and a young couple in their thirties,” the prosecutor’s office said.
Information about the two victims found has not yet been released.
As Marseille mayor Benoit Payan said, there is “little” hope of finding survivors under the rubble.
The cause of the collapse may have been a gas explosion.
