On April 3, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the village of Yagodne in the Chernihiv region with German Vice-Chancellor Gabek and Secretary General of the Council of Europe Peychynovych-Burich.
Here, during the occupation, in the basement of the school, the Russian military kept more than 350 local residents for almost a month.
On other floors of the school, the invaders placed their headquarters, making a “human shield” of people in the basement without ventilation. Ten elderly people died, seven more were shot by the Russians.
I can only add one thing after seeing all this. I can wish Russian President Putin to spend the rest of his days in a basement with a bucket instead of a toilet, as the head of state commented on his visit to the basement of a school in Yagodnoye. His words are quoted by Public.
Approximately 400 people lived in Yagodnoye before the occupation, and about 370 of them visited this basement.
