The ambassadors, who are members of the Political and Security Committee (PSC), came to Ukraine to show the EU’s solidarity and continued unwavering support. The visit was symbolically arranged on the 400th day from the beginning of a massive invasion.
Before arriving in Ukraine, they spent two days at the EU Military Assistance Mission to Ukraine (EUMAM). In particular, they met with Ukrainian soldiers after EU military exercises in Germany and Poland.
According to sources, on Thursday meetings were held with representatives of the people, Minister of Defense Alexei Reznikov, Deputy Prime Minister Olga Stefanishina, Deputy Foreign Minister Yevgeny Perebiynos, Deputy Head of the President’s Office Roman Mashovets and a visit to Borodyanka.
The media said it was the first visit by all 27 ambassadors of EU member states to Ukraine since the full-scale invasion of Russia. In addition, until February 24, 2022, there have been no such visits to Ukraine in full force. Such committee field meetings are rare events.
“The EU remains committed to supporting Ukraine to enable the country and its people to defend themselves against Russia’s unjust war of aggression,” the source said.
