Everyone should be interested in an objective investigation of explosions in gas pipelines, believes Dmitry Peskov.
Russia regrets the UN Security Council’s decision not to support the resolution on an international investigation into explosions in the Nord Stream offshore gas pipelines. This is what Kremlin speaker Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing on Tuesday, March 28.
“Of course, with regret (we are associated with such a decision – ed.). We believe that everyone should be interested in an objective investigation involving all interested parties, all those who can shed light on customers and perpetrators of this terrorist act. We believe it is very important, we regret that the initiative did not pass, but, of course, the Russian side will continue to prevent this topic from being wrapped up,” he said.
Peskov was also asked what other methods there are in this case and what actions the Russian Federation intends to take.
“Now, perhaps, it is almost impossible to determine. But we will do everything in our power to continue to insist and initiate such an international investigation,” he assured.
It will be recalled that on March 27, the UN Security Council rejected the resolution of the Russian Federation on the Northern Streams. Only three countries voted in favor, including Russia itself. The remaining 12 members of the Security Council abstained.
At the same time, Russian President Vladimir Putin is convinced that the US intelligence services are behind the explosions in the Nord Stream gas pipelines, but he has no evidence.
