The decision was made due to the publication of false information that threatens the national security of the country.

Five more websites of the Russian news agency Sputnik were blocked in Moldova. NewsMaker reported this, citing the country’s Information and Security Service (NSB).

We are talking about sputniknews.com, md.sputniknews.com, ro.sputniknews.com, sputniknews.ru and md.sputniknews.ru. The decision to block the sites was made due to the publication of false information on them that threatens national security in a state of emergency.

NIB added that they have contacted the providers of network and electronic communication services. They should immediately block Moldovan users’ access to these sites.

Earlier, the service ordered to block portals sputnik.md, gagauznews.md, ehomd.info, rta.md, moldnod.ru and others in Moldova.

It will be recalled that in March last year, the European Union suspended the broadcasting of Russian propaganda TV channels Sputnik and RT/Russia Today.
