The media information about “training of Ukrainian pilots on Mirage fighters” is not true, Yuriy Ignat said.
The information of French journalists about the alleged training of Ukrainian pilots on Mirage fighter jets is not true. This is what the spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuri Ignat, said on the air of Radio Liberty on Wednesday, March 22.
According to him, currently, several thousand Ukrainian servicemen are being trained in different countries of the world, which is a “typical phenomenon.” Among them are representatives of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Directly in France, training courses for aircraft controllers are held. Also, safety courses for aviators have been held there, but flight crews have not been trained, Ignat said.
“Various countries are now offering the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine their sites for the possible future training of our pilots for the type (fighters – ed.) to be chosen together in consultations with our Western partners. We are not talking about the training of flight personnel,” – summed up the spokesman.
It should be noted that the French publication Le Figaro said that 30 Ukrainian pilots are training in France for a month and a half to fly French Mirage 2000 fighters.
As you know, in early March, Paris announced the possible transfer of Mirage fighters to Kyiv.
