Through a conversation with fans on Twitter, the actor Zachary Levi, responsible for playing the protagonist of “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” blamed the marketing carried out on the film for the production’s low ratings.
At the time, one of his followers had stated that the filmmaker’s fans Zack Snyder “were happy for the film’s failure”, where Levi partially agreed, and added:
“That’s also true. Sad but true. How much this really affects the box office is anyone’s guess. But I think the biggest problem we’re having is marketing. This is a perfect family movie, and yet a lot of families don’t know of that. Which is a shame.”, said the star before deleting the tweet.
Zachary even justified his answer, stating that “I have no problem with the fans of snyder. Heck, I’ve watched almost all of your movies myself. My problem is with people wanting to destroy something simply because it’s not what they want. It comes from hate, not love.”
Opening in theaters last week, “Shazam! The Fury of the Gods” accompanies the Shazam family facing a great divine threat formed by Hespera (Helen Mirren) and Kalypso (Lucy Liu), the daughters of the God Atlas, who believe that the team of heroes does not deserve the superpowers they hold, and are ready to express all their anger in a great battle.
