Chinese experts reveal the production process of Terracotta Warriors [VIDEO]

A team of Chinese experts revealed the production process of the famous Terracotta Warriorsan underground army guarding the mausoleum of the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang.

As archaeologists explained at a conference held in Xi’an, the capital of northwest China’s Shaanxi Province, artisans used the rolling technique to create the main body parts of the statues, such as the torso and limbs.

With a thin layer of clay, they collected the main parts of the body and applied the finishing touches to the face and clothes, reflecting the realism and variety of ancient art. Chinacollected by the official newspaper Global Times.

The experts noted that cleft No. 1 is the largest and most spectacular of the burials inside the Mausoleum of Emperor Qinshi Huang.

In total, since 2009, three excavations have been carried out in this cleft, during which more than 220 human figures, 16 ceramic horses and other objects such as weapons and cars have been discovered.

It is estimated that there are more than 6,000 figures and horses in Abyss No. 1, which was looted and burned by Xiang Yu, a rebel from the state of Chu at the end of the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC).

They have repaired more than 130 statues in 26 years, according to a group of Chinese experts.
