Volodymyr Zelensky, President of Ukraine, signed law No. 8381 on transparent procurement of the Ministry of Defense.
Vitaly Shabunin, head of the Anti-Corruption Action Center, announced this on his Facebook page.
According to Shabunin, the entry into force of this bill, in particular, will mean that information will appear in the Prozorro system about the price at which products and services for the military were purchased from February 24, 2022.
It is very possible that after the publication of all the documents, “eggs at 17 apiece” and “potatoes at 22 per kg” may not seem to be the only problem. Because the prices for all other armed purchases should also appear there. Like all subsequent contracts of the Ministry of Defense for food, Shabunin notes.
Shabunin noted that this bill was the result of the work of the anti-corruption committee of the Rada and the Central Bank, work on it began shortly after the publication in the media of a resonant journalistic investigation on the cost of purchasing food for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
