The purpose of this meeting was to discuss support for the ICC investigation into Russian war crimes in Ukraine.
Justice Ministers from around the world met in London to discuss support for an International Criminal Court (ICC) investigation into Russia’s war crimes in Ukraine. It was reported by the British TV channel Sky News.
The meeting took place after the March 17 International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin on charges of deporting Ukrainian children.
British Justice Minister Dominic Raab said his government would continue to fund and provide expertise to the court until “justice prevails.”
“We are meeting in London today, united by one goal – to hold war criminals accountable for the atrocities committed in Ukraine during the unjust, unprovoked and illegal aggression,” he said.
In addition, the Minister of Justice of Ukraine Denys Malyuska, Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin and ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan spoke at the conference.
Remember, Karim Khan said that the International Criminal Court (ICC) initially considered the possibility of keeping secret the warrant for the arrest of the current President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin.
As you know, on March 17, the ICC issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Children’s Ombudsman Maria Alekseevna Lvovo-Belova.
Several countries have already announced that they will arrest Putin if he dares to appear on their territory.
