The European Union will transfer the second tranche of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine next week.
Kyiv will receive 1.5 billion euros from the package, which provides for a total assistance of 18 billion euros. The payment will be made in the form of emergency assistance to help Ukraine meet urgent needs. The Vice-President of the European Commission Valdis Dombrovskis announced this on Twitter.
The EU is committed to supporting Ukraine for as long as it takes,” he assured.
On December 10, 2022, the Council of the European Union supported the proposal of the European Commission to provide additional financial support to Ukraine in 2023. The new macro-financial assistance program for Ukraine will amount to 18 billion euros.
Recall that Ukraine received the first tranche of macro-financial assistance from the EU in the amount of 3 billion euros from 18 billion euros in January. The next 15 billion euros (4.5 billion euros per quarter) Kyiv will receive only for the fulfillment of its obligations. The memorandum includes 20 points divided into four blocks.
