The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council believes that there is no reason for China to help Russia commit war crimes in Ukraine.
China will not be Russia’s accomplice. This is what Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov said in an interview with Radio Liberty, published on Friday, March 17.
He also answered a question about the Kremlin’s choice of a protracted war tactic based on Western exhaustion and psychological and emotional exhaustion in Ukraine. According to him, “unfortunately, this is not the only position of Russia.” He mentioned that there are countries that support this position.
Danilov added that each country has its own interests, its own benefits from certain events taking place in the world.
“We must be aware of these things. We must understand and make some corrections to these things. I can say that Russia’s hope (to prolong the war – ed.) will not come true, their internal potential is at a certain point. They just need to strengthen, to involve other countries, we know these countries,” the NSDC secretary explained.
One of Russia’s partners is Iran, which is currently helping the Russian Federation with weapons. In addition, there are “some countries that are at risk, but they haven’t crossed that threshold yet.”
“And, of course, there is great hope among the Russians for a great China, that it will help Russia. We don’t understand why China should help Russia. Because China is a big country with its own way of -development? And if there is a combination of these things, you need to understand how the world should respond to it. And I emphasize again: we believe that China will not be an accomplice of Russia. Because these countries, which , together with Russia, began to participate in these things, are participants in the killing of civilians. During the hot phase of the war, since February 24, Putin killed 500 of our children,” said Danilov.
To recall, ISW reported that Chinese companies were selling rifles, parts for drones and equipment that could be used for military purposes to unknown Russian structures.
We added that the United States believes that China’s military assistance to the Russians in the long run could be problematic for Ukraine.
