At Sarah Ferguson’s bachelorette party, she and Lady Diana were arrested for “impersonating the police”.

Sarah Ferguson, nicknamed Ferg, who was invited to the set of The Kelly Clarkson Show, recalled a funny story about the wedding party with Princess Diana. “He and I, we had a lot of laughs, but we also got into a lot of trouble,” says Prince Andrew’s ex-wife.

Crazy evening

In 1986, Sarah Ferguson is going to marry the second son of Elizabeth II. A few days ago, as tradition dictates, he decides to go out with his friends. Among them Lady Dee. Since they know each other, the two inseparable friends perform the 400 strokes. That evening they decide to dress up as policemen. The Duchess of York says they went to a bar to drink. “We sat down and the waiter came over and said, “Sorry, it’s a members club.” We don’t serve the police here,” he recalls.

After leaving work, the two women, still in their clothes, went for a walk in the park, where they came face to face with the police. Both impersonators were arrested for “impersonating the police”. Diana and Fergie were taken to a police van where they hid their engagement rings. Lady Dee is quickly tempted by a crisp package of bacon in the van. “The policeman grabbed her arm screaming ‘you can’t do this,'” Sarah Ferguson recalled.

However, once the authorities realized they were royalty, brides-to-be were free to go. The party then continued at Annabel’s, one of London’s most exclusive nightclubs. The two friends then ended their naughty night by locking Prince Andrew out of the palace as he was also returning from his bachelor party.

Declaration of friendship

When the two friends married, they were constantly compared by the tabloids, and finally fell out a year before Diana’s death. 26 years after the accident, the Duchess of York said that her late friend, who died in a car accident in 1997 at the age of 36, did not miss her. “He’s with me all day.”
