The military received modern means of communication on board 40 M113 armored personnel carriers, which will increase the effectiveness of their use during combat.
Soldiers of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine received from volunteers sets of special communication equipment for 40 M113 armored personnel carriers, which will allow the units to increase the communication functionality of armored personnel carrier and more effectively conduct combat missions. This was announced on Monday, March 13, by the press service of Metinvest.
“The cost of the equipment is about UAH 6.5 million, it was donated by Metinvest as part of the Steel Front military initiative, founded by Rinat Akhmetov to help the military,” the report said.
According to the military, communication and communication tools will allow armored personnel carriers to send information about their location and status, which will help the command to continue to receive the status of the current state of the combat unit in the field of war and coordinating operations. Also, this form of communication will be used to coordinate actions between the combat units themselves.
“The communications and communication systems that we equipped the M113 armored personnel carrier allow us to suppress the noise of caterpillars during movement, as well as the noise during firing from mortars and machine guns . All this will significantly improve communication during the battle. The equipment was handed over to the military defending Bakhmut,” – added Alexander Kul, senior manager of mergers and acquisitions of the Metinvest project office.
This military aid package also includes 100 command and 106 car radios, 153 autonomous charging stations and batteries, 9 repeaters, 356 antennas, 48 routers and other special equipment.
Recall that at the end of last month, Metinvest handed over 10 drones with thermal imagers, 10 all-wheel drive Volkswagen Transporters and 20 Fiat Ducato ambulances to Ukrainian servicemen.
By 2022, Metinvest’s assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine will reach UAH 1.5 billion.
