The battles for Bakhmut continue, the situation in the city is very difficult, but it is not surrounded by the Russian army.
The defense of Bakhmut lasts about 10 months. The defense forces have carried out a number of tactical actions that have prevented the enemy from taking the city into an operational encirclement. On March 9, the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky announced this on Telegram.
Defense is an organization of action that is built on strategy, discipline, and the trust of personnel. Her progress depends on the intelligence and cunning of each commander. We must be able to foresee the actions of the enemy, which has a quantitative advantage, he stressed.
According to the colonel-general, the Russian army is already operating by conventional methods and does not count human losses. However, Syrsky emphasized that the number of warriors is not a decisive advantage or a factor in victory.
At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine understand the tactical significance of Bakhmut for the invaders and know their plans for actions in other sectors of the front.
According to Syrsky, now every move and decision can radically change the situation, and every day has the highest value.
We will remind, the other day, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Bakhmut will fall in the coming days. After that, the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that it is difficult for the Alliance as a whole to understand the logic of the war that Russia is waging against Ukraine today. They approach this purely pragmatically with dry calculations, sometimes not realizing that the Ukrainians have gained much greater resilience, unconventional actions, and the power of tactical decisions over the course of a year in the war.
