All G20 members agreed to strongly condemn the war against Ukraine, except for the Russian Federation and China.
The war unleashed by Russia on the territory of Ukraine is one of the main topics at the meeting of foreign ministers of the G20 countries, which will be held on March 1-2 in New Delhi. On Monday, February 27, Voice of America reports.
“Ukraine will be the main item on the agenda. In addition, the issues of climate change and the growth of debts of third countries will be raised,” the agency notes.
It is expected that the discussions will be attended by the heads of diplomacy of Russia, the United States, Great Britain and China, as well as representatives of 40 countries and international organizations.
Within the framework of the meeting, a behind-the-scenes meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the Quartet – the United States, India, Australia and Japan is also planned.
It will be remembered that China blocked the adoption of the final statement of the summit of the finance ministers of the G20 countries due to the fact that it condemned Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.
Earlier it was reported that India during the G20 presidency did not want to discuss new sanctions against Russia.
