The European Union late on the evening of February 24 introduced the tenth anniversary package of sanctions against Russia due to its invasion of Ukraine.
According to the official website of the EU, the restrictions affected the seven most significant areas:
- Export of critical technology and industrial products such as electronics, specialized vehicles, machine parts, etc.
- Electronic components that are used in drones, missiles, helicopters, thermal cameras, etc.
- 96 organizations associated with the military industry. For the first time, this list includes seven Iranian companies that supply drones to Russia.
- Import of asphalt and synthetic rubber.
- Suspension of broadcasting licenses for RT Arabic and Sputnik Arabic.
- Limiting the ability of Russian citizens to hold any positions in the governing bodies of critical EU infrastructures and organizations.
- Prohibitions for citizens and legal entities of Russia to book gas storage capacities in the Union (with the exception of LNG), and so on.
The tenth package of EU sanctions is directed against the Russian military industry, propaganda and the financial system, the president believes.
Pressure on the Russian aggressor should increase: we expect decisive steps against Rosatom and the nuclear industry of the Russian Federation, increasing pressure on the military and banks, Volodymyr Zelenskyy tweeted.
