2,383 Ukrainians were registered in the Register of Volunteers of the State Tax Service last year, which is 8.4 times more than the entire existence of this list. Opendatabot reported it.
At the beginning of this year, the tax service counted 2,699 volunteers.
The register of volunteers for the anti-terrorist operation was created in 2014, and before the full Russian invasion of Ukraine, there were only 320 people in it.
It was noted that approximately 70% of volunteer registrations for 2022 were in December. The completion of the reporting period pushed 1,653 citizens in the last month of the year to protect themselves from tax problems.
Registration of volunteers in the registry helps not to fall under the taxation of donations (without registration in the official list, the State Tax Service can charge 18% personal income tax and 1.5% military tax), as well as not being subject to financial monitoring and blocking of bank accounts due to suspicious card transactions.
In addition, registered volunteers have an additional trust rating.
