The German government must consider many factors and will not make a hasty decision.
A decision will soon be made on whether to send German-made tanks to Ukraine. This was announced on Sunday, January 22, by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, according to the British TV channel Sky News.
According to him, the German government “must consider many factors and will not make a hasty decision.”
“In particular, such factors include security issues for the German population,” the statement said.
Remember, German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock said that Germany would not object if Poland sends German-made Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine.
Earlier, the American publication Business Insider reported that the German Ministry of Defense deliberately delayed the inventory of existing Leopard tanks in order not to create additional expectations and pressure on the government regarding their possible transfer to Ukraine. According to the publication, such an order was given only today, upon the arrival of the new head of the Ministry of Defense.
