The units of the State Border Guard Service as part of the Defense Forces in the direction of Bakhmut held several lines and destroyed the Russian invaders.
On January 16, the border guards as part of the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled the enemy attack in the direction of Bakhmut, causing heavy losses to the invaders. This was reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service.
“Yesterday, during the day, the border guards fought an enemy attack on one of the advanced strongholds near the fortress city of Bakhmut. The enemy forces, under the cover of artillery, carried out of several prolonged attacks,” the ministry said.
It was noted that the servicemen of the border unit worked on attacking aircraft from small arms, mortars, as well as grenade drops from UAVs. In addition, they were provided with fire support by order of the Defense Forces.
“The attack of the invaders failed. During the defensive battle, damage was done to the enemy’s manpower: 12 killed and about 17 wounded,” concluded the border service.
Earlier it was reported that the Special Operations Forces, together with other units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stopped the attempt of invaders near Kremennaya in the Luhansk region.
