In 2022, the amount of expenditures of the general fund of the state budget of Ukraine since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine will reach 2.2 trillion hryvnias. This was announced by the Ministry of Finance on Tuesday, January 17.
“Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, the total amount of monetary expenditures of the general fund of the state budget reached 2 trillion 226.6 billion hryvnias. In December, the expenditures reached 331.7 billion hryvnias,” said report.
The ministry notes that in the structure of costs, the majority is directed to wages with accruals – 938.2 billion Hryvnia. In particular, 721.9 billion hryvnias (in December – 99 billion hryvnias) for financial support of military personnel.
Another UAH 502.2 billion is required to pay for the use of goods and services. Of this amount, UAH 282.5 billion went to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is the acquisition of military equipment, weapons, ammunition, defense products, personal protective equipment (helmet, body armor and other special equipment).
In addition, UAH 454.7 billion was allocated for social security, UAH 132 billion for public debt repayment and UAH 106 billion for transfers to local budgets.
Earlier, the Ministry of Finance said that defense spending in Ukraine has increased six times. At the same time, the country is ready for a military campaign throughout 2023.
Recall that the state budget-2023 set a historical record for defense spending – 1 trillion 141.1 billion Hryvnia or 18.2% of GDP.
