Electricity was restored in 101 settlements of the Donetsk and Dnepropetrovsk regions, which were de-energized as a result of the Russian attack, as well as in Kyiv.
In the first week of 2023, DTEK power engineers restored electricity supply to 90,000 subscribers who lost power due to shelling by the Russian army in Kyiv, Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions. This was announced by the company’s press service on Monday, January 9.
“In total, from January 2 to 8, DTEK Grid specialists restored the operation of power grids damaged as a result of enemy shelling for 90,000 families in 101 settlements of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions and in city of Kyiv,” the report said.
The press service added that since the beginning of the mass offensive in Russia, energy companies have restored electricity for 6.6 million families.
DTEK also reminded that on January 8 in Kyiv, Kyiv, Dnepropetrovsk and Odessa regions, it was possible to carry out shutdowns according to stabilization schedules, despite the difficult situation in the energy system.
Earlier today, Ukrenergo reported that energy consumption limits are in effect across Ukraine: the energy system is unable to cover consumption in full due to the damage and occupation of a number of power plants by Russian.
