Britain and Germany have said they are ready to provide Ukraine with the heavy weapons it needs to liberate the occupied territories.
The UK says the next package of military aid to Ukraine may contain tanks. This was announced on Thursday, January 5, by British Foreign Secretary James Cleverley in a joint press conference with his German counterpart, Annalena Burbock, Daily Mail and The Guardian write.
According to Cleverly, this topic is under constant review.
Speaking about whether the UK will join other countries in sending armored fighting vehicles to Ukraine, Cleverly said:
“We are moving military equipment capable of delivering a decisive … strike against Russian targets from afar. We will continue to talk to the Ukrainians about what they need for the next phase of self-defense, and we will continue to work with our international partners to ensure that “It is. Tanks can be part of that. Where they’re coming from, what allies are giving them, that’s something we’re definitely working on with each other,” Cleverly said.
He also noted that the way in which support was provided to the Ukrainians changed with the progress of the war. The Foreign Minister emphasized that Britain will continue to develop its support, and work with allies on this issue.
In this regard, Burbock said that Germany is ready to provide Ukraine with the heavy weapons needed to liberate the occupied territories, and will work with NATO partners to achieve this.
The German Foreign Minister said that “if Putin believes that he can hold on to power longer than we can help Ukraine with weapons, he is wrong.”
Burbock emphasized that in order to liberate its territory, Ukraine needs offensive weapons.
Recall that today the media reported that the German Ministry of Defense is considering the possible volume of supplies to Ukraine of Marder infantry fighting vehicles. Currently, these numbers range from 20 to 40 units.
