The course of negotiations or the provision of military assistance must remain confidential, said Admiral Emil Eftimov, the country’s defense chief.
In Bulgaria, a logistics operation began to send military and military-technical aid to Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Bulgarian Ministry of Defense on Friday, December 23.
“From today, a logistics operation will be carried out, within the framework of which the aid approved by the National Assembly (parliament – ed.) will be sent to Ukraine,” said Deputy Defense Minister Kateryna Gramatikova.
In turn, the head of the country’s defense, Admiral Emil Eftimov, noted that the course of negotiations or the provision of military assistance should remain confidential.
“We learned conclusions about the course of hostilities in Ukraine – not only on the basis of the tactics and equipment used, but also on the logistics system, state and capabilities of the defense industry both in our country and in allies of NATO and the EU. . On this basis, we proposed a certain set of weapons and equipment,” he said.
It is also reported that Bulgaria expects to receive military equipment from Western allies to replace the one that is now being transferred to the Ukrainian army.
It will be recalled that on December 16, the Bulgarian parliament finally approved an agreement on the supply of arms, military equipment and ammunition to Ukraine. However, the list was not disclosed.
At the same time, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev today condemned the parliament for military aid to Ukraine. He expressed regret that, according to the norms of the constitution, he could not veto the decision of the representatives, which allegedly “instigated the war.”
