The Municipality of Lima announced that from Friday, September 23, a plan for the heavy transport bypass will be launched in the former Pan American Southbetween San Pedro and Lima avenues, for which alternative routes have been established for this type of vehicle.
From north to south, heavy-duty units coming from Av. Lima, must turn right onto the former Panamericana Sur.
Then merge at the interchange towards the South Pan American Highway and follow San Pedro Avenue to return to old Panamericana Sur.
From south to north, heavy traffic arriving from the old Pan American South you will need to turn left onto San Pedro Avenue, follow the road Pan American Southgo through the old Panamericana Sur and turn onto Av Lima.

Finally, there will be a north-south contingency detour where heavy cargo units arriving from Lima Avenue should turn to Las Palmas Ave.go for Avenue Saenz Peña, Ave. Pablo Paulet, in Zheleznodorozhny Ave.refer to Pachacutec Ave.the outside Los Rosales, Avenue Manuel Valle and take the old Panamericana Sur.
MML He indicated that the action would be carried out because the existing bridge “no longer meets the technical and safety requirements, so it needs to be replaced.”
“The implementation of the detour plan will have appropriate vertical signs, as well as support from municipal transport inspectors, building inspectors and traffic police to direct drivers and pedestrians,” the statement said.
